Artificial Intelligence (AI)

This 0-credit, 7-week graduate course provides an intensive, hands-on introduction to advanced prompting strategies for generative AI, grounded in Google’s Prompting Essentials program. Designed for graduate students across all disciplines, the course focuses on developing AI fluency that enhances research, professional communication, project planning, data analysis, and creative problem-solving. Students learn how to design effective prompts using structured, advanced techniques. They practice using AI as a creative and expert partner to break down complex ideas, generate solution pathways, and strengthen decision-making. In addition, the course equips students to accelerate analytical work. Students will also learn to evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, clarity, bias, and ethical implications. Students receive a grade of completed or not completed for this course. Acceptable completion requires submission of a Google AI certificate, which students receive after successfully finishing Google AI modules and can share with employers and professional networks.
